I am interested in putting an addition on to my home, but would like to put a permanent foundation under the existing home first(or at the same time). What is the most inexpensive and diyer friendly way to do this?
There is no inexpensive nor DIYfriendly way to achieve what you wish.
When installed new from the factory, mobile homes are not regulated by building codes but rather by HUD or other approved construction methods.
Once installed or altered, existing mobile homes must conform to what prevailing building codes and accepted engineering practices prescribe just as for 'stick built' homes in most cases.
That said, foundations for additions or foundations placed under existing mobile homes must comply with all normal practices and inspections as would any other structure for your area.
None of which are typically 'cheap'.
Consult your building code office and a local structural professional for details.
